Elifnur Polat, from the tenth grade, was chosen by the Young Guru Academy (YGA), as a volunteer. YGA is a non-profit leadership school non-profit founded in Turkey in 2000. YGA cultivates diligent and caring leaders who strive to achieve the world’s dream of a brighter future for the future generations. To make this dream come true, YGA evaluates more than 50,000 applicants from 200 universities in Turkey and other prominent universities abroad every year. Among those students who apply, only 50 of them are chosen as YGA volunteers. These volunteers symbolize reliable and devoted leaders who are permanently involved in developing social projects. YGA enhances the sense of conscious commitment by voluntarily serving the disadvantaged members of the society. The YGA volunteers who show outstanding progress in leadership workshops may attend the YGA leadership camps which take place in London, New York, Boston and Silicon Valley. YGA has currently undertaken joint programs involving orphans, people with disabilities, and renewable energy research projects with Harvard University, MIT and UC Berkeley.
