BELS high school students performed “Otogargara” in Berlin at Theatre 28 on the 14th-19th December, 2016. The play takes place in a bus station. Consisting of characters such as students, soldiers, patients and prisoners, the play reflects a cultural slice of Turkish motifs. The BELS Turkish Theatre Club, which has been running for 8 years, performed its 18th performance first on BELS’s stage and then performed abroad in Germany for the first time. This opportunity was an unforgettable experience for all of the club members. The play, directed by drama teacher Emre Aksakallı, was highly appreciated by Berlin’s theatre lovers. Presenting scenes from our country, the play helped Turkish expats living in Germany experience a little bit of home. We would like to thank our administration for their help, our parents for their support and the drama students for their effort and commitment to honor and represent both BELS and Turkey overseas.
