Every year at the Annual Science Fair held by Bilkent Erzurum Laboratory School, students display both their interests and creativity adopting scientific research methods. On Friday, 29th April, the 9th Science Fair began with an opening ceremony. It was organized with the aim to maximize students’ scientific curiosity, put those theoretical subjects within the curriculum into practice, increase knowledge of various topics, promote team work, help students gain experience in giving presentations, and advance research skills. The students competed in a Kahoot Quiz prepared by the Science Department. The top three scores won prizes. Following the quiz, students shared their projects with the entire school. Projects on up-to-date subjects, such as a robotic hand, a robotic greenhouse, and growing plants through hydroponics were displayed. In the afternoon, a video on Biomimicry was shown. At the 2nd “KnowBELS” award ceremony, the best projects in physics, chemistry, biology and engineering were awarded. At the end of the fair, all participants were awarded certificates of participation.
